An easy to grow deciduous shrub, which is hardy and quick-growing. The arching stems of this Leycesteria carry gold soft leaves, and bears dangling maroon and white blooms in the summer, followed later by purple-black berries.
Likes any moist but well drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
Useful for coastal gardens, woodland gardens or dry areas and make an attractive addition to wildlife gardens, attracting birds to their autumn berries.
Can be left unpruned, or cut back to the ground in spring.
