Description
Tricyrtis are exotic, orchid-like flowers that bloom profusely in the shade. Perfect for a moist woody spot, and will bloom from late summer to early autumn when many other shade lovers are long gone. Looks fabulous with with Hosta and Ferns. Don’t be alarmed though, it often doesn’t make an appearance in the ground until late spring.
Prefers a moist, well-drained soil in partial shade. Slightly acidic is okay. If it starts to look a bit straggly or unwell cut back by 1/2 in early June to control height and freshen foliage if required. May benefit from extra watering during summer heat.
