Description
10cm Pot.
A tall-growing wildflower that grows naturally on banks of streams and around ponds. It has strong, upright stems, from which long, poker-like heads of bright purple-red flowers appear from midsummer. Its flowers are extremely attractive to bees and butterflies.
It’s ideal for growing at the pond edge but will also thrive at the back of a moist, sunny border or bog garden – it makes a great choice for an informal cottage or wildlife garden.
Grow in moist soil in full sun. Water frequently in dry weather and cut back old growth in spring. Divide clumps every three to five years.
Height 50cm-1m x Width 10-50cm
